From A to Zoe

From A to Zoe

I've always marched to my own tune. I like what I like regardless of trends or popularity. It doesn't really matter to me if I'm in London for the first ever Harry Potter midnight premier and EVERYONE wanted to go and call back to the states; I don't want to watch it, so I'm not going watch it just to say I was there (yes that's a true story that my sister recently reminded me about). Back in the winter of 2006 I was in an accident and watched a ton of television on the long never ending road to the new normal. During the beginning of this elongated television binge session Rachel Zoe was brought to my attention

A Blur of Wonderful

A Blur of Wonderful

This weekend was a fairytale. Yes I just borrowed that from Ms. Swift because it fit. A year ago it was a complete blur of wonderful all weekend. Out of town friends and family came in early for a full house slumber party leading up to our wedding. Thursday started with pizza and ended with singing along to the duling pianos. Friday I was spoiled with plenty of laughter perfect for breaking the ice. Saturday at 6 in the morning the most wonderful girls woke up to sit by my side as moral support and the most talented team of gorgeous professionals showed up to make us look fabulous. The best sisters and family in the world filled in  and took care of the things that fell through the cracks all to ensure that it was a wonderful blur of happiness for me. The greatest wedding venue followed all 8 pages of my maticulusly typed timeline and bullet point list of notes to perfection. Without the skills of our awesome photographer and videographer I wouldn't have the memories to make me smile at daily as the rotating background on my computer. The most talented mucisians brought the dream of a second line through The Roosevelt's Waldorf Wonderland lobby to life. And the most practiced and repeated moment, twirling in the middle of The Blue Room wouldn't have been nearly as fun without the amazing band. This weekend... well it was just as grand.

Well Done Bugatti

Well Done Bugatti

Hubs and I are both engineers and over-achievers. To everyone else on the planet we are just plain annoying with our constant need to be an over-achiever. (Well done guys setting us up.) Pretty often our date nights include discussions of new things we learned and saw lately even though it's techniqually work related. Yes, I know it's very romantic to discuss fixed versus adjustable torque tooling. Along these very romantic lines of work talk, we had a "How It's Made" marathon going the other night. We constantly discussed the points in the process they needed to improve tooling, fixturing, and documentation as well as recognized the jaw dropping amazing manufacturing moments. The most outstanding moment of our romantic night was this floor trolley system in the Final Assembly station for Bugatti.

HELP! Hot Glue Gun Recommendations

HELP! Hot Glue Gun Recommendations

Let me start by saying I'm a firm believer in the ability to make anything with visqueen, duct tape, and hot glue. Seriously, think about it, when in need with those 3 things you can fix pretty much anything.

That said, this weekends project (still not finished to share) has forced my hot glue gun into retirement. I know, it's a very sad day but I'm trying to look on the positive side and think about it as a much needed upgrade.
