Friday hubs beat me home from work. I was thrilled to arrive home and see his plans for the evening. He had made us a blanket pallet on the floor and had the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie from RedBox in hand! It was exactly what I needed after a long rough week at work.
Saturday morning Jackson and I had breakfast on the pallet while hubs was gone hunting. I tried to get up and be a productive member of society. Jackson's version of "productive member of society" is very different from mine. He pouted all morning that I wouldn't just lay on the pallet with him and rub his belly. After making a couple footballs I met up with the family girls for a bridal shower to celebrate Chris & Teresa! We played some fun games that weren't the standard ones always used. My favorite was the team challenge to make a wedding dress out of toilet paper. Yes I'm slightly competitive. Yes it is a genetic trait. Team of 4 included me, my sister, my mom, and my grandmother. We dominated it. I engineered that toilet paper better than Vera Wang could have. Mom and Meme were amazing with the alterations to make sure it fit Meg perfectly. We improvised with props off the table center pieces for a bouquet and hair piece detail, because duh we needed to win. Seriously, Tim Gun would be so impressed with how we MADE IT WORK! Then Meg worked the runway like she was a cross between Tyra Banks and Miss America. Meme had to step in and do some coaching at one point but Meg was a quick learner and secured the win for us. (Thank you to the people who took these pictures at the bridal shower since I failed getting my own.)
At some point after the shower it was brought to my attention that my garter toss football had made it onto some lists. I can't translate either one but I'm praying it is a best of type list. If you can translate them I would love to know!
After the bridal shower we went over to my parents to watch the LSU at Alabama football game with some family friends. Since the game wasn't until late I was able to lay by the pool for a couple hours and read more of my new again (I never finished it a few years ago, I recently picked it up and started over) book. We had the best time sitting and hanging out. It was one of those things that you couldn't have planned for it to go any better. It was just so relaxing and easy. The only thing that could have made it better is a Tigers win but they played well and it wasn't a blowout so I'll take it.
I was very good Sunday. For anyone living under a rock, it was the launch of Hearth & Hand line at Target by Joanna Gaines. Despite my wishes, boxes with one of everything didn't arrive at my house for me to test and my bank account was no larger when I woke up. So I resorted to dreaming online and filling up a virtual cart for my retail therapy from the hammock. Side note, I really liked her better before she got all famous... when she did did her magnolia mom blog and I was one of the few reading it. Now I have ZERO hope of her & Chip becoming besties with us after helping get us into our "dream home." Anyway, instead of wishing I could click purchase on my Target shopping cart I decided to do some work. I tried out a new font for "Great Catch! You're Next!" but I'm not totally sure. Thoughts?I'm happy to report that I cleared off the entire football production list! Since the production list is now completely clear I'm going to start my planned Annual Autumn sale for 10% off the top 10 most popular items a few days early. Now through November 22nd you will automatically get 10% off the 10 most popular items in our shop, including custom designed tumblers, footballs, and banner pennants. (Get your requests in now to ensure you have it in hand for Christmas gifts without paying for expedited production!)
I need to ask everyone for a favor. If someone could please have a talk with the furry forrest animals it would be great. If you could just ask them to come out and let hubs see them that would be great. They don't have to stay long, just long enough that he sees some furry animal while he's out there. It is getting a little old watching him spend more money to feed the furry animals and then coming home all pouty that he saw nothing.
Once hubs got home from hunting it was football time, which turned into napping time.
Sadly the weekend is over and we are back to it being dark at 5:00 pm. I hate it. Can someone please propose a law to get rid of this time situation all together? It looks as dark as midnight outside when it isn't even 7:00 pm. We have loved our blanket pallet this weekend. Jackson was really not happy with us when we started folding the blankets and putting the pillows away last night. Maybe next weekend will be another pallet kind of weekend.
XOXO
