The Crusher was Thirsty

The Crusher was Thirsty

I told hubs early on that he would never get bored with me. Today I definitely did my part to keep him entertained.

Before I get to today's event we need to back up a bit. June in Louisiana in HOT. As luck would have it, the AC in our house went out the last week of June, just in time for a hotter month! After paying an arm and leg for a whole new HVAC system AND the last payment for Serena, my Volkswagen Jetta, (get it Serena Volkswagen like Serena Vanderwoodsen) July heat was manageable. Then bam, the AC went out in Serena! The heat hit me in the face and reminded me about the miserable summer heat in the south. After a stop at the VW dealership and finding out the likely cost was north of $2,000 to fix Serena, my cheapness kicked in. I refused to shell out more money for bought air. I lasted through August and most of September until a very fine group of coworkers made an executive decision that vehicle AC in the south is a must fix item. Last week my keys for Serena were taken and she went into surgery.

First off, if I like something a lot and use it regularly odds are it has a name because it is just way easier to say "babe I can't find Serena's keys" instead of "babe I can't find the keys to the car" and then we go through this tap dance of which car. My MacBook Pro is named Abby. I don't know why or where I came up with this name but her name is Abby. Abby is the best. I bought her the first week of graduate school and wow! If I had Abby technology and syncing capability with my phone and calendar during undergrad I would have done a whole lot better! (Yes I'm old and was in college when these ancient things like iPods and The Cloud were invented, so today's "simple" stuff like syncing is novel.)

The Matchmaker

The Matchmaker

In March of 2015 we each went to the second birthday party for Lavinnia, the daughter of a John Deere co-worker (my old job / the Mr.'s new job). Unknowingly, we were both invited as a setup by her parents. The setup worked. By the time Lavinnia's next birthday rolled around we were engaged and wedding planning with our flower girl. Well we recently celebrated another birthday for Lavinnia but this time as Mr. and Mrs.

Veracruz-Style Red Snapper

Veracruz-Style Red Snapper

Most days I feel like I'm a hot mess and it is a miracle that I'm a productive member of society. Today was not one of those days! Today I felt like I had adult world under control; made it to work on time, actually remembered to get my lunch out of the fridge before I left home, didn't spill coffee on myself (anyone that knows me realizes this is a huge feat), I was super productive at work today, after work helped the Mr. with a project, made a wedding football, and cooked an AMAZING dinner! Alright, in fairness I can't take all the credit for dinner. I made Veracruz-Style Red Snapper that my Mr. caught in the Gulf and our friend Richard filleted. But today was still a win in my book.

Pineapple Bachelorette Bash

Pineapple Bachelorette Bash

One of the guests at Danielle's Pineapple party is getting married and loved the pineapple theme so much that she decided it should be the theme for her bachelorette party weekend at the beach. I finished the last of the goodies last night and I'm officially obsessed with the pineapple theme! The designs looked cute on the computer when I was tinkering/planning but the reality of the finished product is amazing! I'm beyond sad that I'm not part of this bachelorette party weekend to get my own set of pineapple swag. Someone else please plan a FINEapple bachelorette party and invite me!!! Otherwise I'm going to have to be a complete dork and make a set for myself while pretending I was invited.

Congratulations Sabine & Harry

Congratulations Sabine & Harry

After working with Sabine and Harry for a couple project I'm certain we would be couples game night besties if we didn't live in two different countries! Sabine and Harry are our doppelgängers in Austria. Seriously, they are fans of Beauty and the Beast AND football! They are too perfect for words!
