This weekend officially felt like spring. My boys didn’t want to get out of the bed and had a stare down on who would budge first. The weather was so wonderful that it took me a while to get moving instead of swinging on the hammock. All of the spring decorations have started making an appearance around the house from the front door to the back. My favorite is definitely the new spring flower arraingment I made for the breakfast booth.
While I was busy working on spring decorations I filled a kong ball with peanut butter for Jackson so he would be occupied. It worked a little too good. He spent the 2 hours after he finished it pouting because he wanted more.
In addition to spring decorating I made huge project on a major project! I have HATED the kitchen cabinets since we moved in. It doesn’t matter how many people say they don’t look bad or how much hubs insists they don’t bother him (he’s color blind of course the RANDOM red cabinets don’t bother him). In fairness, they are beautiful high quality cabinets and it’s more of the random color I have an issue with. The cherry Red just doesn’t match anything else; cabinets in the bathrooms, hardwood floor in the entry, framing around windows, the front door, even the cabinets in the garage! Literally nothing else in the house has even a hint of cherry red what makes you install cherry red cabinets? Over the last 2 years I’ve tried every kind of stain and paint you can think of on various sections of the cabinets with zero luck. Well I’ve finally done it! I found the perfect color that is easy to apply and reviews claim it will be Amanda proof (review to come), Renaissance Chalk Furniture Paint in greystone with the white wax. I was sooooooo excited I wanted to immediately empty out every cabinet and paint. It took great restraint to wait for hubs to approve of this giant project. I’m happy to report he approved but sadly this project is going to have to wait a few months, he doesn’t ask for much but he’s asked to get the back porch spruced up first. I can agree to that condition request.
Jackson got a new bed from Treat A Dog and demanded a photo shoot. He likes being featured on the blog.
Incase there was any doubt, spring has definitely arrived. I’ve gotten nothing but bright colors that Lilly Pulitzer would approve for garter toss sports balls this week. Of course I had to stage them all with the new spring table centerpiece. Check out these amazing pink colors!
This weekend was wonderful and much needed with me finally feeling better after being under the weather for the past 3-4 weeks.
XOXO
