Mardi Gras & Valentines

I know I'm behind on sharing our Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day details but I figured it's better late than never.

Mardi Gras started the only possible way with PJ's Mardi Gras King Cake coffee in my Rae Dunn mug to get the day started right. Hubs had to work and I wanted to use the day to accomplish some projects around the house. Our next door neighbor ended up cooking and having a few of us over to socialize and watch the parade coverage on tv. I didn't know I live amongst celebrities but I learned that we have a krewe king and queen living in our neighborhood! We watched their interview and spotlight quite a few times. It was a delightfully productive day with just enough festivities for this homebody.

The next day was Valentine's Day. I'm not a fan of celebrating this holiday. I don't know why, just something about going all out with love one day a year doesn't ring true to me. I'm more in the camp of consistent and simple. Anywho, it fell on a Wednesday, our usual date night, so obviously we did calzones from Rotolo's. My one request was for us to dip Liuzza strawberries. I don't know what the Liuzza's did different this year but OOOOOOOHHH MMMYYYY GOOOOOODNESS every flat I've gotten this year is AMAZING! I think my strawberry dipping and decoration skills were pretty impressive.
