Bridal Portraits (Round Two)

Earlier I shared how my bridal pictures turned out to be more of an event than anticipated, check out Bridal Portraits (Round One).

I didn’t want to retake pictures without my little sister, making it impossible to get everyone available for the same day. We rescheduled Hello Gorgeous and Double Windsor Photography for the second attempt at bridal portraits but we didn’t have a venue. After a lot of brainstorming with Double Windsor Photography we decided to do a walking shoot through New Orleans stopping at whatever jumped out to us, this was a huge risk with unpredictable weather and no promise for anything. We planned to start and finish at The Roosevelt so I had a clean place to slip on my dress and somewhere to leave our stuff until we returned. Since we didn’t know exactly where we were going or how far we would be walking the pretty wedding shoes were replaced by flip-flops.

This turned out to be one of the best memories from all of wedding planning! We had so much fun walking around the city! The attention from open-air party buses, bands playing on the corners, and everyone walking around made it a once in a lifetime experience! New Orleans is a truly special city full of southern hospitality. I am beyond thankful to the people and businesses that saw us in the street and opened their doors to allow so many one of a kind pictures; especially Darleen M Jacobs, New Orleans Streetcar drivers and passengers, and Palace Café.

Huge thank you to my little sister, mom, and godmother for being such troopers! They carried my dress around to keep it from getting dirty, blocked traffic, carted around photography equipment and the bouquet, chased down my veil when the wind pulled it out, and so much more!

XOXO
