My excitement over switch covers is a sign of one thing; I’m old and domesticated. That said, I’m in love with the new switch covers I’m upgrading to. Now I won’t be done for another 10 years because these suckers are expensive and I’m literally buying them one at a time.
Of course I have to be somewhat difficult so I’m buying 2 different kinds to randomly disburse. But I LOVE how they coordinate and don’t match perfectly. Very antique vintage glam in a shabby chic kind of way.
I’m mixing the Filigree and Baroque switch plate designs I found at SwitchHits in with these cheaper ones from Hobby Lobby. Why am I not using the same ones everywhere? Because the Hobby Lobby ones are a great price but only come in 4 styles (single and double switch and outlet) which leaves all my switches with multiple toggles, the cable outlet, and the GFI outlets.
Because I have to be more complicated than just having 3 different kinds of covers going on, I’m spray painting them gold and then painting them the same white as my trim so it all matches, then a little distressing magic to see the gold bling. I know I know it is a lot of work for wall covers but after doing the first one “just to see if it was worth it” I immediately knew it was totally necessary!
If anyone is able to find switch plate covers that coordinate with these for cheaper LET ME KNOW!!! My search has been completely unsuccessful for a cheaper alternative.
XOXO
The Mr. & Amanda
