French Quarter Fest

This weekend started off strong with French Quarter Fest but turned out to be rather uneventful.

Friday after work my sister and I went in town for a girls outing at French Quarter Fest. We both wore sundresses which proved to be a terrible choice with the wind along the river. Attempting to eat, hold a drink, dance to the music, AND keep our dresses from flying up was a challenge. Once the music ended we were hungry and checked out a place we have never been, The Bombay Club. Very cool spot tucked off the main path. Cute atmosphere with good jazz music but we were definitely the youngest people there.

Saturday brought some awful rainy weather, it was so bad they canceled French Quarter Fest, so hubs and I stayed in comfy clothes all day. I’m not sure where the day went but before I knew it we were cheering for the Pelicans victory and it was well passed my bedtime. Hubs went fishing Sunday morning so I could have some quiet time to think and continue to work on a big case study project. As you can see, the breakfast booth is still holding on as one of my favorite spaces in our house.

I took a break from working for dinner with the family. It was a much needed change of scenery and energy boost to get back focusing on my project. When we got home, hubs and Jackson had a photo shoot with the new bed from Treat A Dog. Jackson thinks he’s a model now.

So it is bedtime now in preparation for another Monday at work and I haven’t got much to show from the weekend. I still need to go to the grocery store for my weekly run down and I have yet to finish my case study project. Maybe next weekend will be more eventful and productive. If not, a little break from the chaos of life never hurt anyone! Right??
