My neighbor came to me with an idea she wanted to do for her prayer group to celebrate Easter. I really wish I could write and pray from the heart as well as she does (I was raised Catholic, we recite prayers... from the heart praying just wasn't practiced in Catholic school). My talents and assistance were solely in the ‘make it happen’ department bringing her vision to life. With her permission, I'm sharing this very inspirational and meaningful Gift of the Cross.
My Sister,
I pray this package finds you in good health and God’s perfect peace. As I journey to draw closer to God, He gives me revelations. I am so proud to share this one with you.
The Gift of the Cross
The cross, for me, was always a symbol of long suffering. I saw is as Jesus’ means of suffering to be resurrected so I could be forgiven. Man was I wrong. God showed me the cross was a rebirth of sorts. When Jesus was nailed to the cross, EVERY struggle, EVERY burden, EVERY stronghold, and EVERY sin I was either born with or allowed into my life was nailed with Him. The only reason they come back, is because I take them down.
I want to share my joy with you!
I give to you 2 crosses—one large and one small.
The large cross represents the cross on crucifixion day. Write your struggles, sins, strongholds, and burdens in red. You may have to add them as needed. Hang the cross wherever you will see it the most. Let it be a reminder that thru the Crucifixion, shedding of His blood, and Resurrection, Jesus took all of this with HIM. YOU ARE FREE!!
As it says in Luke 9:23 … ”if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
That leads me to the small cross. The small cross represents the daily crucifixion of your flesh. We must die to the flesh daily so that our spirit man can live in and with Christ.
Basically, my sister, the cross allows us a rebirth EVERY day we allow its power to work in and thru us. I pray that you spend some time with God so that He can share this marvelous revelation with you. Allow the gift of the cross to bless you the way it has blessed me.
Your sister in Christ,
Yondell
Happy Easter everyone. May we all take up our cross and accept God's will.
Huge thank you to Yondell for essentially being my first guest blogger by letting me share her beautiful words!
XOXO
