Creole Queen
Kim and Jamie outdid themselves with the Christmas gift they got us, a jazz dinner cruise aboard the Creole Queen! Forcing us to play tourist in our backyard was such a great idea! Jojo’s parents came in town for Memorial Day so we decided to turn it into a double date dinner cruise.
We got down to the Riverwalk early so we grabbed coffee or drinks while we sat along the water and waited. Once we boarded we were seated in the formal dining room with a full Creole dinner menu selection that included gumbo, jambalaya, seafood penne, and even bread pudding!
Food Pros and Cons:
Very good selection of options with delicious salad, bread, cornbread, jambalaya, baked chicken, and two different vegetable options. The gumbo was a little on the salty side and the bread pudding could have used a bit more sauce. The meat was delicious and super tender as long as you didn’t put the gravy on top (the gravy was very salty). The seafood penne was perfect but I would have liked the seafood ratio increased a bit. Overall, worth the money and a good little selection of your typical standard creole food for out of town visitors.
After dinner we went up on the top deck to enjoy the view and the live Jazz band entertainment. We danced on the deck as the sunset and stars emerged making it an excellent memory.
It was a wonderful night and so much fun to play tourist in our backyard!
Huge thank you to Kim & Jamie for this awesome memory!
XOXO
The Mr. & Amanda
